Resident Pro: Ken Lacy
Ken Lacy has been a student and mentor in the game of golf for many decades. This experience has allowed him to develop a rare trained eye for the game. He is an extraordinary blend of old-school teachings mixed with new-school techniques.
Ken’s teachings center around the ‘Hogan Method’: a more personalized, in depth approach to instruction in the golf industry. This method focuses on compiling data based on the individual including:
- Physical: capabilities, strengths, limitations etc.
- Mental: learning style, range of concentration, motivations
- Personal Goals: current, short term, and long term
In conjunction with Ken’s instruction, RiverWatch Golf also offers students the opportunity to work on their skills utilizing the latest technology in club and ball tracking data: The FlightScope X3. FlightScope, the world’s first 3D Doppler ball tracking golf radar and golf simulator, analyzes swing motion and provides shot diagnostics to players to help develop an effective and replicable swing motion. The FlighScope X3 gathers data on distance, flight trajectory, clubhead speed, launch angle, ball speed, club path, and face angle. The system has a built in processor that can assemble all the necessary calculations and stores individual data for each student that can be returned to and built upon in future lessons. It is one of the most versatile systems available and allows for equipment testing and golf simulations as well as teaching and player assessments..
The FlightScope X3 can be found in RiverWatch’s new indoor teaching facility at RiverWatch Golf & Resort. Demonstrations and lessons are available by appointment. Please contact Ken Lacy: teaching and playing professional at KLacy@riverwatchgolfclub.com or by calling (304) 687-8856.
